2011 nissan murano review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The world's first suv convertible. introductionstructurally, the new nissan murano crosscabriolet is far more than a murano crossover suv with the top chopped off, but basically it's not. Introduced at the la auto show november 2010, it was met with skepticism and kidding, for solving a problem nobody knew they had. The story goes that the crosscabriolet was the brainchild of nissan's dynamic president, carlos ghosn; the idea was met with disbelief, but what the president wants, the president gets.  so here it is, and only time will tell if it's too far out there, or if it's the reinvention of versatility, as nissan marketing now calls it.  it can't be denied that some people actually do need an suv convertible. Edgy fender flares front and rear and a gap for off-road ground clearance over the tires make the crosscabriolet statement: take me to the boonies, i'm ready. The look is especially striking when the top is down. The nissan design team wanted to express a feeling of sky and earth, and they have.  two of the murano doors have been sacrificed in order to keep the roofless chassis structure strong. The remaining two doors have been widened nearly 8 inches to allow easier entry and exit to the rear seat. Using aluminum and magnesium rails, it goes up or down in 25 seconds. There's a unique narrow skylight that runs the width of the top, and is located just over the rear glass, filtering light onto the heads of the rear passengers and making the interior feel more open.  when the top is down, the tall windscreen and the car's high beltline make passengers feel confined and protected. Even with the windows lowered at 75 mph, there isn't much buffeting. Raise the windows and it's whisper quiet with nothing but the sky above.  the overall lines of the interior, including wonderfully comfortable seats, are sculpted and curved, subtly, so it works. However legroom in the rear has been lost, as space had to be made for the top when it's down. It's a pretty slim 32. 7 inches now. Cargo space is slim, as well.  the crosscabriolet uses the exceptional nissan 3. 5-liter dohc v6 engine, with all-wheel drive and a second-generation cvt transmission with good logic control, but no manual mode. The ride is very smooth. We love this engine. Regardless of whatever ribbing nissan has been taking for solving a problem that nobody had, when a carmaker comes up with a car that everybody looks at and smiles at, they feel they've done something right.  besides, some people actually do need an suv convertible. There's a new front fascia, and also everything from the reinforced a pillars back, especially the doors. (the murano also features new styling for 2011.)  two of the murano doors have been sacrificed in order to keep the roofless chassis structure of the crosscabriolet strong. The remaining two doors have been widened by 7. 9 inches, in order to allow easier entry and exit to the rear seat. There are no b-pillars.  the sides of the car curve upward into the shape of a small j, where they meet the low-profile roofline. J-motion waistline, nissan calls it, the shape adding both roof height and trunk space. The feature is more pronounced with the top down, as it encompasses the heads of the rear passengers and seats them in a secure small well, without blocking their visibility. Sporty-looking brushed aluminum rollbars rise behind their heads, and pop up another six inches if triggered by rollover sensors.  the pop-up rollbars will smash the skylight if that happens. It's a horizontal slit over the rear passenger's shoulders that opens things up and raises the roof, at least in the occupants' minds.  edgy fender flares front and rear, and a gap for off-road ground clearance over the tires, make the crosscabriolet statement: take me to the boonies, i'm ready. The look is especially striking when the top is down. The nissan design team wanted to express a feeling of 'sky and earth,' and they have.  boomerang taillamps are traced from the nissan 370z and maxima, and split five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels finish off the styling. interiorthe crosscabriolet interior begins where the murano top of the line interior ends, says nissan. The forward view of the rear seat passengers is helped by sloping shoulders of the front seats. The trim looks nice in half-matte chrome finish, which we usually just describe as brushed aluminum. There's just enough wood trim, light or darker, on the console and front-door armrests.  from the high driver's seating position, it feels like what it is: a big suv with no roof. Visibility out the rear with the top up is pinched a bit, but sideview mirror visibility is good. The instruments look clean and sharp in white on black, and all the buttons and knobs on the dashboard and center console are good and functional.  a 7-inch display screen is used by the rearview camera whenever backing up. The rest of the time it's used by the navigation system, which comes with xm traffic.  with the top down, the interior space is sheltered from the wind. 'confined and protected,' nissan says, describing the feeling. We drove the crosscabriolet with the windows up, down, half up, and front-rear up-down, and were sheltered all ways. So no screen or shield seems to be needed, behind the rear seats or at the top of the windshield. Turbulence is kept out of the car by the tall windshield, high beltline, and high rear shoulders from the j-motion design. Conversations between driver and passenger are easy. We didn't have any passengers in the rear seat, but even they should be able to talk to the driver without having to shout into the wind. Even with the windows down at 75 mph, there wasn't much buffeting. When we raised the windows, it got whisper quiet even at that speed.  those backseat passengers are positioned 3. 6 inches closer to the front seat, than in the murano suv. Rear legroom has been lost, down to a slim 32. 7 inches from 36. 3 inches, to create storage space for the soft top. The good news is that there's tons of hip room with the rear bench reduced from three seats to two, with a console and two fixed cupholders in between.  the front seatbacks flop forward and the seats slide forward, to enable entry and exit for the back seat. It's not the slickest method we've come across, but it works.  with the top up, there's good trunk room of 12. 3 cubic feet. When the top is down it rides on a shelf in the back, so trunk space then gets slashed to 7. 6 cubic feet. Cargo space is not the crosscabriolet's strong point.  the quality cloth top with fabric liner comes in black or beige, and looks sleek with its low profile. It wasn't the old convertible cowl shake, but it was some kind of shake forward of the a pillars. Heated Seats✔ Anti-lock Brakes✔ Climate Control✔ Navigation System✔ Alloy Wheels

2008 nissan titan review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Major revisions improves this full-size pickup. introductionthe nissan titan gets two noteworthy additions and a host of detail improvements for 2008, delivering more of the truck capability while taking off just enough of the tough-guy truck image to appeal to a broader range of drivers and occupants.  new long-bed models have been added, and are longer than most competitors, along with more bed space, payload, and fuel capacity.  inside, the 2008 nissan titan sports a thoroughly redesigned interior that is at once more attractive and user-friendly. Titans range from utilitarian models with crank windows to leather-lined cabs befitting a luxurious sport-utility.  titan's proven and powerful v8 and automatic is the only choice, and it's a stout engine raced at more than twice its street-legal 317 horsepower. More than 25 variants are available. The next slot, sort of a 4wd only se derivative, is the pro-4x model with larger, more aggressive tires, off-road suspension tuning, two-tone cloth upholstery, and double sun visors.  luxury characterizes the le model, which runs 20-inch wheels, fog lamps, leather power seats, a 350-watt rockford fosgate sound system, dual-zone climate control, power adjustable pedals, and chrome power folding heated mirrors.  all except the xe offer a front side/side curtain/roll-sensing stability control option package. Se and pro-4x have the widest choices, from spray-in bedliner to seat choices, while navigation is reserved for pro-4x and le trucks. On crew cab se-or-better only, a moonroof and dvd entertainment are among the options. walkaroundthe 2008 nissan titan's most notable change is the new long-wheelbase variant that provides a bed length of almost 8 feet, 3 inches on king cabs and 7 feet, 3 inches on crew cabs, the biggest box on a half-ton crew cab pickup; those models also have the largest fuel tank at 37 gallons. An optional rear-view camera is available and we found it eased trailer hitching.  a new center dash section for 2008 handles audio, climate, navigation, and switching duty (tow mode, vdc off, diff lock, etc.) with a slightly more integrated look. It looks better than last year's setup and more easily handles extras like the dual-zone climate control on le models. Rear doors on king cabs swing almost 170 degrees for easy access and there's room back there for six-footers on short-to-moderate length trips. It comes standard with the big v8 and a five-speed automatic transmission. Although it doesn't have as much horsepower as gm's larger v8 choices or dodge's hemi, it matches or betters most on torque and a titan will outrun most pickups and deliver competitive mileage to similar configurations; only the tundra's 5. 7-liter/six-speed automatic combination really betters it. The electric locking rear differential (pro-4x only) is more effective in severe terrain than the all-wheel electronic traction control of regular 4x4 titans and most competitors. The rear axle has also been strengthened considerably to accommodate the towing and new load ratings.  pickup trucks aren't held in high regard for ride comfort or handling prowess yet they have made strides in both. The longer wheelbase only betters cruising comfort but even the short-wheelbase titans will generate no complaints, at least not from anyone that knows what a ton of payload means. The titan has always performed well in pickup brake tests, and these offer a larger margin of safety and durability, needed because the previous brakes didn't hold up well. summarythe 2008 nissan titan adds long bed models to the mix and more refinement Power Seats✔ Power Windows✔ Power Mirrors✔ Climate Control✔ Cruise Control✔ Sunroof/Moonroof✔ CD Changer✔ Alloy Wheels

2007 nissan altima review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The nissan altima has been totally redesigned for 2007. It looks more like the maxima now. It's a couple of inches shorter on the outside, but has more room on the inside, including a spacious trunk. Fold-down rear seats allow the trunk to expand into the cabin for carrying big long things.  the object of the redesign was to bring the feel and power of a luxury car to this everyman's midsize sedan, and nissan has succeeded, at least with the altima model that has the v6 engine and all the options, including plush leather. It makes 270 horsepower, more than what's available in other midsize cars (excluding turbocharged or expensive sports sedans), along with 258 pound-feet of torque. The price for that power: the v6 requires premium fuel and gets 22/28 mpg.  another thing that makes the altima stand out is its new optional cvt, or continuously variable transmission. It's the only automatic transmission available in this car, and it's a winner with its manual mode, which allows six speeds or ranges. A cvt improves gas mileage because there's less internal friction.  the handling is true, and the suspension is quite firm without ever being harsh. It inspires confidence. It's a match for rough pavement and is steady and predictable in extreme situations. The altima also comes loaded with safety features.  an intelligent key comes standard in the altima. This might be convenient for some, but it leads to new problems, having to do with the memory of the human brain and confusion of the car's electronic brain. lineupthe 2007 nissan altima is initially available as five models: the 2. 5, 2. 5s, 2. 5sl, 3. 5se and 3. 5sl. Air conditioning does not come standard.  the 2. 5s adds air conditioning, a six-speaker sound system, remote keyless entry, power sideview mirrors, and speed-sensitive intermittent wipers, among other smaller things.  the 2. 5sl uses the continuously variable transmission, and adds leather interior with heated front seats and power driver's seat, moonroof, alloy wheels, dual-zone temp controls and rear air conditioning vents, among other smaller things.  the 3. 5 se uses the powerful v6 engine with the six-speed manual gearbox and cloth interior. It adds abs, traction control, and 17-inch alloy wheels, plus heated sideview mirrors and other features.  the 3. 5sl has most of the things listed above, but goes back down to 16-inch alloy wheels. It adds high-intensity xenon headlights, foglamps, bluetooth hands-free phone system, and nine-speaker bose cd/mp3 sound system.  a technology package includes the navigation system, a rearview monitor and satellite radio. On the higher priced models, anti-lock brakes are standard and electronic stability control is optional. Abs includes electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. Electronic stability control, which nissan calls vdc (vehicle dynamic control) is optional on 3. 5 models. walkaroundthe new 2007 nissan altima looks quite stylish, especially for a mid-size car. The body has gotten a makeover, and features a number of pleasing changes. Like some other new cars, in particular lexus, the fender flares are edgy and extend farther than before, allowing the body itself to be narrower and offer less frontal area. The gap between the tires and flares has been tightened. Overall aerodynamics are improved from 0. 33 to 0. 31, thanks to many things as always, not least the more steeply sloped windshield.  the wheelbase has been shortened by nearly an inch, and the overall length cut by 2. 5 inches, with shorter overhangs. The cowl was moved forward and rear glass rearward, which allowed for no overall decrease in cabin space. The beltline is low so there's more side glass, which adds to the roomy feeling.  the headlamps and taillamps appear almost exotic, certainly elaborate. As for the taillamps, nissan says they cost nearly as much as the headlamps (so don't back into anything!), and they definitely do look expensive. They're covered with clear plastic like the headlamps, and contain a silver ray-gun looking cylinder with the red lamp, plus a round white beam for the backup light and a big orange piece for the parking lamp and turn signal. interiorin redesigning the altima, nissan engineers were assigned to create more cabin space, and given one inch less to work with, on account of the reduction in wheelbase. They met their goal by stretching the distance between a-pillar and c-pillar, thus shortening the cowl and deck. There are 1. 7 inches less legroom in front, but 3. 1 inches more in the rear, and that's a lot; however, 0. 8 inches of rear headroom has been lost. Trunk space has grown from 15. 6 cubic feet to 17. 9.  the seats are relatively large. They feel firm and longer and higher than in last year's models. We've been in many luxury cars that didn't feel this classy inside. More soft materials are used, for touches like padded armrests, and the overall level of refinement is higher than with the former altima. It's the common and practical tripod design, with speedo in center, tachometer on left and gas and temp on right. The lettering is sharp, white on black, with red needles.  the center stack is neatly designed, with three dual-zone hvac vents at top over the sound system and good knobs, leading down to usable storage slots and the transmission lever, in this case for the cvt. The space for the big glovebox was created by downsizing the air conditioning unit, but nissan says there's no compromise in ac effectiveness; in fact, nissan says the ac is best in class, thanks to improved airflow and a quieter fan.  the intelligent key is standard on all altima models, but we don't think it's so smart. It may be true that women don't like to bother with putting a key in an ignition, as the manufacturers say, and like to keep their keys in their purse at all times; but it's also true that since intelligent keys have been invented, there has been a rash of dead batteries. It's left on the accessories mode, and drains the juice. Not even with a passenger totally devoted to the challenge, while we were stuck in traffic.

The s trim is well equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and a 6-disc cd changer; sv trims add a single disc cd player with satellite radio and mp3 capability, power driver seat and bluetooth; the sl trim is further outfitted with a power liftgate, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery, and intelligent key passive entry/start; platinum trim receives 20-inch alloy wheels, around view parking aid, and navigation system. Safety features found on every pathfinder include electronic stability and traction control systems, anti-lock disc brakes, active anti-whiplash head restraints, and a tire pressure monitor with nissan's easy-fill tire alert system. The nissan pathfinder carries over with minimal changes for 2014. Cruise Control✔ Climate Control✔ CD Changer✔ CD Player✔ Bluetooth✔ Navigation System✔ Alloy Wheels

2007 nissan murano review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. A benchmark for crossover utilities. introductionnissan hit a home run when it launched the murano. The nissan murano integrates function and high fashion. It combines sport-utility cargo capacity sporty driving dynamics. It is the quintessential crossover vehicle, an suv based on a car.  the murano shares aspects of suvs and cars. Named after a region of italy known for its famous glassware, murano emphasizes refinement and on-road confidence. Getting in and out is easy and the back seats are roomy enough for a couple of basketball players.  yet, as with an suv, the driver sits relatively high. Flop the back seats down and there's more than 80 cubic feet of cargo space available, which is a lot. It's much bigger than it looks, bigger than a midsize sedan, nearly as big as a ford explorer. It eschews the square look of a truck in favor of a modern aerodynamic design. The murano features a sleek front end with smooth lines front to back, and a greenhouse that slopes rearward, ending in a graceful c-pillar. Inside, the instruments and controls seem to float in pods that appear barely attached to the dashboard.  the 3. 5-liter v6 engine, the same basic powerplant used in the 350z sports car, delivers hearty performance, tuned here to produce 240 horsepower. In short, the murano scoots. It comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission, or cvt, that's smooth and responsive while offering good gas mileage for the class. Murano shares basic underpinnings with the front-wheel-drive nissan altima and maxima sedans (but not, despite popular misconception, the nissan 350z-based infiniti fx). As a result, its road-tuned suspension delivers smooth and sporty handling. All-wheel drive is available, for good grip and stability in wintry weather and hard rain, and we recommend getting it.  the murano is unchanged for 2007, except for the addition of a tire-pressure monitor as standard equipment. Nissan freshened murano's appearance a bit for 2006. lineupthe 2007 nissan murano is available in three models: s 27,750), sl 29,300), and se 31,850).  the s and sl come standard with front-wheel drive (2wd); all-wheel drive (awd) is an option 1,600). The se comes with all-wheel drive as standard equipment. All models are powered by a 3. 5-liter v6 mated to a continuously variable transmission (cvt) that nissan calls the xtronic.  the murano s comes standard with dual-zone automatic temperature control, a high-power am/fm/cd audio system, power windows with auto up/down feature in front, keyless remote entry, reclining rear seats, tire pressure monitor and large 18-inch alloy wheels. Options include a convenience package 800) that includes a 10-way adjustable driver's seat, roof rails, adjustable pedals, and a cargo cover and net.  the sl adds a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat, upgraded audio with steering wheel controls, a compass, a garage door opener, automatic headlights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power outlets, fog lights, and an alarm. Sl and se models are distinguished by brushed aluminum trim on the rear bumper and chrome accents along the sides.  the se comes with a firmer, sport-tuned suspension; a manual shift mode for its transmission; high-intensity xenon headlights; uniquely styled alloy wheels; and dark-silver lower bumpers.  options for sl and se include a premium package 1,650), which adds a more powerful bose stereo with subwoofer, auto volume control and satellite radio pre-wiring to the contents of the convenience package. The sunroof package 2,650) adds an electric sunroof to the premium package. A dvd navigation system 1800) is also available. The rear-seat dvd entertainment package 1,720) comes with a seven-inch drop-down screen, remote control and two wireless headsets. A chrome wheel package is available for sl and se 1,200).  safety features that come standard on all models include dual-stage frontal air bags with seat belt sensors, front-seat side-impact airbags, full-cabin curtain style head-protection airbags, and active front head restraints. Rollover sensors for the airbag system activate the airbags in the event of a pending rollover. A dynamic control package 750), which combines vehicle dynamic control (an electronic stability control system) with traction control, is available on sl and se. walkaroundthe murano is named after the glass sculpted in the islands near venice. The glass is known for its beauty as well as for the high-tech methods used in its production. In the nissan murano, this duality is most obvious in the styling.    the murano is designed to blend the look of a car and a truck. The top half of the body is sleek like a car, while the bottom half is bulky like a truck. Overall, the look is much sleeker than tall box-shaped suvs. At first it looks a bit over the top, but most people quickly get used to it and traditional suvs start looking boxy and dated by comparison.  big 18-inch wheels contribute to murano's muscular styling. Sculpted, vertical-stack projector headlights define the front corners. The windshield and front side windows are tinted green to deflect uv radiation; the rear side windows and backlight are darkly tinted for privacy.  the highly styled rear hatchback is made of reinforced plastic because steel won't bend easily in such a complex shape. Details in the design help it slip quietly through the air. The colors were chosen carefully to promote a luxury look. interiorclimbing into the nissan murano couldn't be easier. The seating position and steering wheel orientation make it feel more like a car than an suv. The view rearward, however, is not compromised as much as we had expected by the stylishly thick d-pillars.  the front seats are comfortable and supportive, even for people well over six feet tall. Petite drivers are also able to get comfortable, with optional power-adjustable pedals that help ensure a good driving position without getting too close to the steering wheel where the air bag is housed. The overall interior fit and finish are good. Wood-tone trim is available in the sl, but the aluminum trim seems more appropriate here. The gauges have a classy grayish background with amber backlighting. Steering wheel audio controls are illuminated.  a prominent pod juts from the center of the dash presenting audio and climate controls. A seven-inch color lcd screen enhances usability and access to vehicle information. AM/FM✔ Power Windows✔ Climate Control✔ Air Conditioning✔ Navigation System✔ Sunroof/Moonroof✔ Alloy Wheels

At 114.2 inches, the new Pathfinder's wheelbase is 2.0 inches longer than the 2012 model, overall length stretches 4.6 inches to 197.2, and width expands from 72.8 to 77.2. Like so many of the vehicles that came along in the mid-'80s SUV boom, that first generation was a body-on-frame design based on Nissan's compact pickup truck. The only dimension that shrinks is height: 69.6 inches, down 2.4, in part because ride height and ground clearanc Sunroof/Moonroof✔ Navigation System

The towing capacity is only 1500 pounds and the available all-wheel drive system is intended more for snow and rain than rocks and mud. All-new compact crossover SUV. IntroductionThe Nissan Rogue is a compact SUV in the crossover style, much like the Honda CR-V. We think it's one of the better handling small SUVs, but it's not sporty or particularly fun to drive
