More power for this agile pickup. introductionthe toyota tundra gets a significant increase in power for 2005, and fuel economy has been improved. A new 4. 0-liter v6 delivers 245 horsepower, matching the output of last year's v8 and representing an increase in power of nearly 30 percent over last year's v6. Meanwhile, the 4. 7-liter double overhead-cam v8 has been refined with toyota's vvt-i technology, bringing it up to 282 horsepower, an increase of 42 horsepower over last year's v8. Both engines are now available with responsive five-speed automatics; and the v6 is available with a new six-speed manual transmission. There are other refinements as well.  the tundra is one of the smoothest, quietest, and most refined pickups we've driven. It's more agile than other full-size pickups, at least partly because it's slightly smaller. The tundra feels quick and responsive, lighter on its feet and more refined than the domestic trucks. Critics call it a 7/8ths truck. It isn't quite as good at being a truck as the other trucks when hauling or towing, but it's capable of hauling up to 2025 pounds or towing up to 7100, if equipped to do so. Not everyone needs the ultimate in truck capability, though. The double cab is more than three inches taller, and is built on a longer chassis than the other tundra models; so it comes a little closer to being a true full-size pickup. Three trim levels are available: base, sr5, and limited. Access cab v8 models are available with a full-width or stepside bed.  two engines are available, and both are more potent for 2005. The base v6 has grown from 3. 4 to 4. 0 liters. It still breathes through dual-overhead-cam (dohc) heads, and now uses toyota's computer-controlled variable valve timing with intelligence (vvt-i) to produce 245 horsepower, 5 more than last year's v8, and 55 more than the 190-horsepower rating of the 2004 v6. Torque is up significantly as well, from 220 to 282 pound-feet. The optional i-force dohc v8 sticks with its previous 4. 7-liter displacement, but acquires vvt-i to boost horsepower from 240 to 282, and torque from 315 pound-feet to 325. Transmissions are new, too. The v6 now comes with a new six-speed manual. A new five-speed automatic is optional 770-$840) with the v6, standard with the v8.  base models are pretty plain, starting with the v6 regular cab 2wd with six-speed manual 15,955). Bumpers are painted, but anti-lock brakes (abs) are standard. Sr5 models come standard with air conditioning; cruise control; tilt steering; power windows, locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry; sliding rear window; am/fm/cassette stereo; tachometer; color-keyed front and chromed rear bumper; styled steel wheels; and other trim upgrades. The v6 and six-speed manual are standard in sr5 access cabs, but the five-speed automatic is available, as is the v8 engine. The v8 is standard in sr5 double cabs.  limited models come standard with the v8, and are available in access cab 27,075) or double cab 29,745). The limited's long list of standard equipment includes an in-dash cd changer, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and an anti-theft system. A sport suspension package for 2wd v8 models features tokico shocks, springs tuned for handling, a 3. 91:1 limited-slip rear differential, and graphite-tone 17-inch alloy wheels wearing p265/65r17 tires. walkaroundthe toyota tundra is a good-looking truck, with a bold grille opening that extends down into the bumper. The heavy-looking chrome grille bars faintly suggest the 1947 gmc design, a model now popular with collectors. Curving lines give the tundra a sporty appearance, while bulging fenders make it look ready to go off road. However, the tundra's styling is bland compared to the nissan titan, dodge ram, or ford f-150. Toyota's stepside body is more svelte than macho. I don't like it.  the tundra double cab looks bigger and brawnier than the regular cab and access cab models. That's because it is bigger, not only longer in wheelbase, but more than three inches taller as well. Around back, double cab models sport unique taillights. At 74. 3 inches, the double cab's bed is just a half-inch shorter than the access cab's. Fortunately, the inside of the rear door is padded, so this isn't a big problem. Handles for the rear doors are conveniently located on the outside, whereas most domestic pickups with extended cabs hide the handles inside the door jams. Unfortunately, the handle design isn't the most comfortable to use.  regular cab beds stretch over 8 feet, but the access cab's bed measures only 6 feet 3 inches. That's a few inches inches shorter than the medium-length bed offered on a ford f-150 supercab, but 7. 7 inches longer than an f-150 supercab's shortest bed (which still requires a wheelbase 4. 4 inches longer than the toyota's). Toyota's bed is 5 inches shallower than ford's, 2. 3 inches shallower than the chevrolet silverado's.  double cab beds are only about a half-inch shorter than the access cab's. The double cab's bed is 20. 7 inches deep, 3. 5 inches deeper than the beds of the regular cab and access cab. That makes it slightly deeper than the nissan titan crew cab's bed, though still not as deep as the ford's. interiorthe tundra is a comfortable truck with a friendly interior. Front-seat roominess is competitive with other full-size pickups. Toyota claims the tundra provides more front legroom than any of the domestic pickups, though only by about half an inch; and the nissan titan has only a tiny edge over tundra. The others, especially the f-150, offer more hip room than the tundra, however, and owners notice that.  the double cab is slightly roomier than the other tundra models. Double cabs come with bucket seats up front, rather than the split bench.  climbing in is easy, though the two-wheel-drive model seems to sit higher off the ground than other two-wheel-drive pickups. The tundra feels tall in the saddle, giving the driver a commanding view over shorter vehicles.  accessory switches are concentrated in the center cluster for easy operation. The fake wood on the dash is dreadful, but the instruments are straightforward, with a big tachometer on all but base models. Its lid holds a pad for note-taking, but it felt flimsy when we tried to use it. Double sun visors with extenders are useful at sunrise and sunset.  access cabs add interior storage space and the ability to carry two more passengers. If those passengers are adults, however, the rear seat is a short-term affair. The tundra does not have nearly as much space in the rear compartment of its extended cab as the other full-size pickups. And the rear seatback is vertical, forcing occupants to sit bolt upright, uncomfortable for traveling any farther than the neighborhood restaurant. A far better use for the extended cab is carrying dry cleaning, groceries, briefcases, outdoor gear, or anything else that should be shielded from the elements. Unfortunately, the rear seat takes up a fair amount of room. The seat bottom on the split bench can be flipped up, but the seat doesn't fold completely out of the way, nor can it be easily removed. Some of the domestic extended cabs offer much better versatility.  double cabs, on the other hand, provide genuinely useful space for adult passengers in the back seats. Its 37. 5 inches of rear-seat legroom make for comfortable accommodations, though tundra's back seat still doesn't have as much space as in the nissan titan, ford f-150, chevrolet silverado or gmc sierra. But tundra's rear seatback reclines at an angle of 24 degrees, adding to comfort. Each rear seating position has a headrest and three-point safety belt. Rear-seat passengers also enjoy their own heating and air conditioning outlets, and optional audio and dvd entertainment systems. It's roomy and comfortable in all seating positions, with enough space for a family with several children. All are the same length, and all come with dual sliding rear doors. Power rear doors are optional, however. Dual sliding doors are a $795 option.  of the three trim levels, the ce is basic: cruise control, and power windows, locks and mirrors are all optional.  mid-line le comes with all the popular features. It comes standard with dual-temperature air conditioning with separate controls for the rear, power windows, locks and mirrors, cruise control, privacy glass and better quality cloth. The xle upgrade package #1 1,690) provides leather trim, second-row captains chairs, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, six-way power driver's seat and a premium audio system with radio, cassette, and cd changer and eight jbl speakers. The package is $757, the same price as last year when it didn't include the roof rack and keyless entry. walkaroundwith its clean, conventional looks, the toyota sienna is a classic minivan with subtle touches of sport-utility styling. The long, sloping nose is unmistakably minivan, but square lines elsewhere, particularly when viewed from the rear, recall a sport-utility vehicle. Where many minivans display vast sweeps of metal, the sienna has a relatively even proportion of glass to metal, another suv characteristic.  sienna is built on a stretched version of the toyota camry platform. It is built on the same georgetown, kentucky, assembly line as the camry. Basing the sienna on the camry results in nice road manners. These savings allow toyota to bring the price of the sienna closer to the norm for the class.  sitting in the driveway, the sienna looks neat and compact. Its just-right size fits in between the chrysler town & country and voyager. The sienna is 6 inches narrower inside than the chrysler minivans. interiorthe toyota sienna is roomy, despite its moderate length. Three-row seating is standard, and the rear cargo area is an accommodating 18 inches deep from hatch opening to seatback. The seats can be removed with the seat backs folded flat, which make them easier to handle. The seat latches are superbly executed; they release easily and are simple to re-install.  getting in and out of the sienna is easy. Dual sliding doors are now standard and ensure passengers get in and out in a hurry and minimize running around to the far side of the vehicle to grab a kid. Child-safety door locks defeat the inside door handles on all sliding doors. At the full-open position, an interlock stopper prevents sliding doors from sliding closed when parked on a downhill grade. A half-door stopper prevents the left-side sliding door from fully opening when the fuel lid is opened to prevent the door from making contact with the fueling area.  the optional right-side power sliding door can be opened by pressing buttons on the dash, keyless remote or b-pillar, or by pulling on the inside or outside latches. A switch next to the steering wheel allows the driver to override these buttons so that the power sliding door cannot be opened. The power sliding door feature works without having the key in the ignition. The power sliding door can be opened like a normal door when the power switch is turned off. The power sliding door senses when an obstacle is in its path and automatically retracts.  step-in height is much lower than that of an suv, making getting in and out much easier for shorter people, older people and everyone else. Once in, the driver enjoys an expansive view of the road, though the seating position is not as high as in many sport-utility vehicles. Visibility is excellent in all directions, thanks to all the glass. Big mirrors (power on le and xle models) offer a good view to the rear. Instruments are big, bright and easy to read.  all seating positions are very comfortable. Optional leather upholstery is attractive, luxurious and easy to clean. The rear two rows of seats provide enough room to comfortably seat six people, though they don't offer as much room as the bigger honda odyssey, dodge grand caravan or chrysler town & country. Little nets attached to the sides of the front seats are great for storing toll tickets, sunglasses or wallets. Fold-down cupholders next to the storage net secure drinks but flip up out of the way when not in use; they don't look like they'd hold tall drinks well, but securely held my venti-sized paper cappuccino cup.  the second row can be equipped with either captain's chairs or a two-place bench seat. The seatbacks fold down to provide a flat surface for food and games and cupholders. Molded into the doors are round holders suitable for one-liter bottles. Cupholders, up to 14 of them, are everywhere. The steering isn't as sharp, and the transient response isn't as crisp as some of the other minivans; it leans in the corners, and seems a bit mushy in transient maneuvers. But overall, the sienna handles well and its soft suspension makes up for any handling deficiencies with its smooth ride quality and solid stability at high speeds.  toyota's v6 is easy to live with. It's smooth, reliable, and economical. Power isn't an issue. It generates 210 horsepower, slightly more than the ford windstar's 3. 8-liter v6 and on par with the chrysler voyager's 3. 3-liter v6. Passing other vehicles on hills is easy: punch it and the sienna takes off, quickly putting slower vehicles away. Toyota recommends premium fuel. It always chooses the right gear, forming a team with the v6. It's smooth and comfortable. Loading passengers and cargo is easy and convenient, aided by optional power sliding doors.  the sienna may lack a few features that can be found on some of its competitors, such as the rear audio jacks on the. The 2010 tundra models feature a new grille design and redesigned taillights. Also new for 2010 is the availability of a smaller, more fuel-efficient v8. Refinements for 2010, including adjustable headlights, improve on an excellent truck.  we've found the tundra to be a stable, comfortable truck for towing a 20-foot enclosed car trailer over long distances. Seating is available for two, three, five or six. Three bed lengths and three wheelbases are available.  trim levels range from basic tundra grade to luxurious limited models with leather upholstery, and from the lowest end to the highest is a price differential of around 2:1. High-end models are available with gps navigation and a rearview camera, or a rear-seat entertainment with a 9-inch lcd screen. An available deck rail system in the bed anchors moveable tie-down cleats rated at 220 pounds each.  for 2010, a new 4. 6-liter dohc v8 engine is available. Rated at 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque, and with epa fuel-economy ratings of 15/20 mpg city/highway, the 4. 6-liter v8 not only has a lot more power than the v6, but better fuel economy, as well. As with the 5. 7-liter engine, the 4. 6-liter has dual variable valve timing with intelligence (vvt-i), which optimizes valve timing for the best combination of performance, economy and emissions. It is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota expects the 4. 6-liter v8 to offer the best combination of power and fuel economy of any standard v8 in the full-size truck segment.  the 5. 7-liter v8 engine carries over. With 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission, tundra boasts one of the strongest, most responsive powertrains in the class. The dohc 5. 7-liter is an excellent choice for towing trailers, and has entirely reasonable epa fuel-economy ratings of 14/18 mpg city/highway.  a 4. 0-liter v6 engine, with 236 horsepower and epa ratings of 15/19 mpg city/highway, is the entry-level low-cost choice. The platinum package will be available on crewmax limited models with the 5. 7-liter v8 and flex fuel powertrains. On the outside, the platinum package includes a billet-style grille, chrome bumpers, unique 20-inch alloy wheels and tires, daytime running lamps, door-sill protectors with a platinum logo, and platinum badging. Inside, it includes a power memory function on the driver's seat, outside power mirrors and puddle lamps, and a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel. It will have black bumpers and grille surround and power mirrors will be replaced by manually controlled outside mirrors. Inside will be washable vinyl seats and rubber floors, and several trim and convenience items have been deleted, including cruise control and remote keyless entry, and gauges will be replaced by warning lamps. All 2010 tundra models will have driver and front-passenger knee airbags as standard equipment. Also new for 2010: height-adjustable headlamps, which addresses a gripe we had with previous models. Previous models did not allow any aiming of the headlights, posing a problem when towing a trailer or hauling a heavy load. A shelf to help organize storage space has been added to the lower glovebox, and a new seven-pin hitch connector sits above the hitch to help avoid damage when going over dips and bumps. Among the highlights:  the base tundra regular cab 4x2 23,155) is powered by the 4. 0-liter v6 with a five-speed automatic transmission and the 6 1/2-foot standard-length bed. The eight-foot bed is optional. The regular cab is the workhorse edition tundra, with a fabric-upholstered, 40/20/40-split bench seat, vinyl floor covering, column shift and manual-crank windows. The standard wheels are 18-inch steel.  the double cab tundra grade 4x2 25,495) comes with the 4. 0-liter v6 and standard bed. The tundra double cab features rear side doors like on an suv, and seats for as many as six. The 4. 6-liter v8, 5. 7-liter v8, and long bed are optional on double cab models. The tundra grade equipment basically matches the regular cab, adding carpet in place of the vinyl flooring, a tachometer and outside temperature indicator. Both come standard with the 4. 6-liter v8; the 5. 7-liter v8 is optional. Standard equipment on each trim level basically matches that on the double cab models, though the crewmax adds an overhead console and a vertical sliding power rear window.  options include navigation system with back-up camera, rear-seat dvd player, cold-weather features, off-road packages, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. There are few factory-installed stand-alone options, but dozens of dealer-installed accessories, such as bed liners.  trd's rock warrior package adds color-keyed body trim on the front and a flat-black bumper on the back, fog lamps, black cloth manual seats, bilstein shock absorbers, and 17-inch forged aluminum wheels with bfgoodrich all-terrains for traction, ride and rim protection. The first iteration, called t100, was about the size of a dodge dakota, and it taught toyota that in america a larger truck needs a v8 engine. The second generation, and the first with the tundra badge, taught toyota that 7/8 is not full-size. The current generation, launched as a 2007 model, shows that toyota has learned those lessons well.  the tundra is big and burly by design. To that end, it abandons the high-stepping, nose-in-the-air look of tundras built before 2007 in favor of a more down-to-earth bu.

Toyota claims the camry is the safest, quietest, most fuel-efficient car in its class, and we have no reason to doubt those claims.  camry is an attractive car, with clean sides and nice edges. Benefitting from the latest impact energy management engineering, it's built on a rigid chassis using a lot of high-strength steel and ultra high-strength steel.  the interior is nice, the dashboard neat and stylish, the instrument panel pretty and functional. That expands the 2014 toyota camry lineup to seven models, from the stripped-down camry l to the sport-tuned se to two versions of the environmentally friendly camry hybrid. The 3. 5-liter v6 produces 268 horsepower. Toyota boasts a range of almost 600 miles. The v6 delivers stronger torque, so it's more powerful and more responsive around town in addition to being smoother.  the tuned suspension in the sporty camry se might be too firm for some. We did not find the camry se uncomfortable, but we did find the softer camry xle more relaxing around town. We preferred camry se's tighter steering in all circumstances.  camry hybrid uses a 2. 5-liter atkinson cycle engine rated 156 horsepower, in tandem with a 105 kw permanent magnet ac electric motor, which by itself can produce 199 pounds-feet of torque at up to 1500 rpm. Combined net output is 200 horsepower. The hybrid feels like a totally different car than other models, as it slows everything down and makes the vehicle feel bigger. Toyota has been a leader in hybrid technology but the honda accord hybrid seems to have the edge here. Midsize sedans that compete with toyota camry include honda accord, ford fusion, chevrolet malibu, nissan altima, mazda6, hyundai sonata, kia optima, volkswagen passat. lineupthe 2014 toyota camry comes in seven models. Rocker panels get a chrome insert. A rearview camera is optional as part of several option packages. Blind spot monitor system with rear cross traffic alert is available for xle 500). walkaroundthe toyota camry looks svelte, with no lumpy cladding and almost no chrome. Although the surfaces flow with characteristic toyota softness, strategically placed creases lend both definition and decision. Toyota calls it aero-corner design: hips and shoulders tucked in.  wheels help distinguish camry trim levels. Camry le uses wheelcovers over 16-inch steel wheels, camry xle uses 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, camry se uses 17- or 18-inchers, with two different five-spoke designs. There's a nice character line under the windows slanting slightly up to the rear deck, where there's a small spoiler lip on the se. Windows are outlined in chrome, but no more, except for a thin strip at the rocker level on the le and xle. Body-colored door handles on all models.  the face of the camry se is tweaked, for the better, with body color over the black mesh grille, and more aggressive air intakes in the valance under the bumper. Headlamps are outlined in black, angled, narrow and sleek, with a neat little notch in the line at the bottom. interiorinterior materials are different on different trim levels. Camry l, le and xle use a nice fabric, while the camry se uses a combination of fabric with softex synthetic leather trim. The camry hybrid has its own material, more like the se. Trims are different too: le is silver, xle wood, se silver grain, and hybrid a metallic tech grain.  we found the driver's position comfortable, with thoughtful padding for the driver's right leg against the center console, and high armrests. The standard leather is overlapped in an arc with neat stitching, for a saddle-like effect; new passengers will compliment it and maybe run their hands over the seam. The little window for the clock up at the top looks like a hood scoop.  instruments on most models are in 3d. The instruments themselves are the same, the only difference is in the rings around the gauges, chrome or satin.  the hybrid's panel is the same only prettier. It has optitron meters with white illumination, blue metallic printing, and white lighting pointer. Cargo space in the camry hybrid is 13. 1 cubic feet, a decent-size trunk.  trunk space on all other camry models is a roomy 15. 4 cubic feet.  the manually operated climate control has big dials and easy buttons on the camry le. More seats, more power to haul more people, more stuff. introductionthe 2004 toyota highlander comes with more powerful engines, new safety features, and optional seating for up to seven passengers. Adding to the improved responsiveness these changes bring is a new five-speed automatic transmission. The suspension has been revised, producing a very soft ride quality. And minor structural changes have been made to improve space efficiency inside.  in spite of these revisions, the highlander remains the easiest of motoring companions. Getting in and out couldn't be easier. Its flexible interior makes it easy to various combinations of people and cargo. Seating for five comes standard, but 2004 models offer an optional third-row seat to carry up to seven passengers, though they'd be cramped. The third row folds flat and the second-row seat folds nearly so, revealing 80 cubic feet of cargo space, more than a toyota 4runner. The highlander can swallow impromptu flea-markets buys with ease, and tote them home despite sudden worsening of the weather. A choice of engines is available: a 2. 4-liter inline-4 comes standard, revised for 2004 and rated at 160 horsepower. A new 3. 3-liter v6 that produces 230 horsepower is optional on the base highlander and standard on the limited. The all-wheel-drive model 25,480) is similarly equipped. Other options: tilt-and-slide glass sunroof 900), in-dash six-cd changer 595). The optional rear-seat dvd system 1,770) includes two wireless headphones, rca input jacks for video games, and a household-style 115-volt ac power outlet. A towing package 160) includes trailer wiring plus an upgraded radiator, transmission oil cooler, and 130-amp alternator.  we recommend the optional side-curtain and seat-mounted side-impact airbags 680), which are designed to protect the heads and torsos of passengers in the first two rows. Highlander's airbags are more sophisticated for 2004. Sensors in both front seats adjust the frontal airbags to react appropriately to the severity of the collision and the weight of the passengers. walkaroundthe toyota highlander looks smart and trim, falling somewhere between the edgy high style of the rav4 and the muscular purposefulness of the 4runner. There's a slight family resemblance between the highlander and the lexus rx 330, although the highlander looks more dressed down, rather like wearing faded jeans and a favorite windbreaker instead of dry-clean-only lunch-with-the-ladies attire.  highlander is actually slightly larger inside, as measured by total epa interior volume, than the rx 330, although the lexus has slightly more cargo volume.  highlander's front bumper, light clusters and grille are new for 2004. The bumper cover has sharper lines molded into it, so its shape is better defined than before. The grille's horizontal bars are bolder and better defined, while the various elements of the light clusters seem to blend together more smoothly. Similar changes have been made around back. At either end, however, the difference is so subtle that only the most dedicated toyota-watcher is likely to notice.  the highlander no longer represents the latest in design, however. While the lexus rx 330, which uses the same basic chassis architecture as the highlander, is now in its second generation, the highlander is still in its first generation of design. The highlander lacks the cutting-edge design of the nissan murano, and its front and rear overhangs are relatively large.  entry, both for cargo and for people, is easier in the highlander than in truck-based suvs. With its more car-like step-in and lift-into, the highlander is even friendly to wearers of tight skirts. Not so the usual truck-based suv.  while the toyota 4runner is basically a truck, the highlander is essentially a car. Like a car, the highlander uses unit-body construction rather than having a separate frame. Two-wheel-drive versions are front-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive. The 4runner is the opposite of each of those. For commuting and transporting the family, the highlander is the better choice. Properly equipped, highlander can tow up to 2,500 pounds, not much by truck standards. interiorfew vehicles are easier to get in and out of than the toyota highlander. Neither climbing up nor stepping down is required. This makes the highlander one of the most convenient vehicles on the planet for running daily errands. These seats are flat and lean, but supportive and comfortable and adjust to suit various-size drivers. Part of the appeal of suvs is the ease of seeing out at every angle. The sloping hood of the highlander makes the forward view even more encompassing.  the second row seats up to three passengers, but is better for two. It's split 60/40 and folds down with a cleverly articulated seat bottom. It folds fairly flat but not perfectly flat. The second-row seat slides forward to make access to the third row easier, and to provide more legroom for third-row passengers.  toyota intends for the third row to be used only occasionally. We found sitting in the third row uncomfortable. Also, the side-curtain airbags do not protect third-row passengers as they are designed to do in a toyota sienna minivan. A third-row seat folds flat into the floor, with no need to remove the headrests. Power window buttons are right there on the doors. Radio and heater controls use simple dials and amply sized buttons and operate intuitively. V6 models come with aluminum interior accents. Interior trim and fabrics in all highlanders have been upgraded for 2004. 2004 limited models come with simulated maple-burl dash trim and door scuff plates, but the fake wood on the center stack looks like fake wood. The standard climate control is a single-zone system.  the shifter is uniquely positioned more as a part of the dash than on a central console. This opens up the space between the front seats. It also lends an open, unconfined air to the cockpit. Map pockets, visor mirrors, and front and rear auxiliary power outlets are provided. The driver's window has one-touch auto-down.  highlander provides a large amount of cargo space: 80. 6 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded. The second row does not fold perfectly flat, but the third row folds flat and does not take up cargo space. Most people end up riding around with the second-row in place for passengers and the third row folded flat into the floor, leaving nearly 40 cubic feet of space available for stuff. The picture is very small, but it could help the driver avoid making the tragic mistake of backing over a child and in everyday use it speeds parallel parking or backing up to a wall.  opt for the navigation system, and the camera is projected onto the larger navigation screen, making the image easier to see. This is a far useful tool than the standard screen when it comes to backing up. This screen also displays some of the audio controls, adding an extra step or two when changing stations, but the system works very well.  cup holders abound, with 10 cup holders scattered throughout the cabin. Larger bottle holders are provided in the doors, handy for large water bottles. There's also plenty of storage for small items.  hybrid models have some exclusive interior touches. The gauges are trimmed in blue instead of red, and a power meter replaces the tachometer. Displayed either on the multifunction screen or the navigation screen are consumption and energy monitor information. The consumption screen displays fuel economy in real time and five-minute increments, and the energy monitor screen employs a schematic to show when the gas engine and electric motors are in use. The highlander's elevated ride height and upright seating position give it that desirable suv trait but with easier step-in than what's found in older, truck-based suvs.  head and leg room are generous in the first and second rows.
